so a rivalry that's existed since the 20s, that was still strong as recently as last year's playoffs, is dying after 3 regular season games this season? |

no. not yet. the 4th regular season game played in a football stadium will really let us know if there is still a rivalry or not. |

the outdoor games lost all their appeal after the first 3-4 IMO. MTL has already played once, why them and not the other 20+ teams who haven't yet. (frank)ing gimmick |

You know it will be...it'll be like 40 degrees, with a blizzard of lake effect snow making the ice surface one giant slab of slush. It'll be awesome. |

missed most of last night's game...but I couldn't help but cringe when I saw that Brian Flynn was playing with Galchenyuk and Pacioretty in the third.

Because nobody gives a poop about a Boston/Columbus outdoor game. |

Habs Talk: A Fading Rivalry, by Andrew Saadalla
My quick take on last night's game, and a friendly reminder that the rivalry between these teams is slowly fading away... - Habs Talk
By rivalry do you mean physicality and fighting?
If so, who from that roster last night for the Habs fills that role?
The only physical player for them last night was Emelin.
That's like taking a knife to a gun fight.. |

Nothing official but Beaulieu and Thomas could be skipping this one, Pateryn and Hudon in. |

I have ZERO interest in the outdoor game... will only watch this year because Habs are playing, otherwise I ignore it (and the hype) around it.
I lump outdoor games into the boring NHL Gimmick pile like the shootout and 3v3 overtime... |
